I hope you are ready for spring or on the verge. It isn’t going to wait much longer. GNOIS is organizing opportunities for enjoying the spring iris bloom. Note these early activities.

Annual Meeting

Our Annual Membership meeting is on Saturday morning, February 15, at 9:30 AM  at the East Bank Regional Library. We will discuss the spring activities and elect officers. I hope you can come to this meeting to help us get the bloom season started right.

New Website

Our new website is online at the same URL as previously: www.louisianaIrisGNOIS.com  Some pages are still under construction, but the Welcome (Home) page includes the complete 2025 Calendar at the bottom.

Note that you now have the option to join or renew your membership online using a credit card.

Potted Iris Sale

Our Spring Potted Iris Sale will be held on March 8 at the New Canal Lighthouse at 8001 Lakeshore Drive, New Orleans. Look for details online, on Facebook, and at the meeting on February 15. We have over 400 potted irises to offer.

Special Speaker

We have a special speaker event on Sunday morning, April 6, at 10 AM, at Longue Vue: Bayli Q. Brossette, Curator of Briarwood, The Caroline Dormon Nature Preserve in Saline, LA. Other events include a field trip, our Open House at the Island Iris Nursery, the Rainbow Festival in the Sculpture Garden, and Louisiana Iris Day at Longue Vue.
